Procedures Required for a NetWare

Network

Here is a summary of the procedures required to set the printer for use on a

NetWare

network.

z Steps 1, 2, 3, 4 should be performed by the network system administrator.

Connect the network cable ÆSetup Guide

Follow the instructions in the Setup Guide to connect the network cable.

Setting the Printer Frame Type ÆP. 4- 3

Set the frame type to select the printer protocol. You can perform this setting with the GARO

Device Setup Utility (Canon software application provided with the printer) or you can use the

printer operation panel.

Setting NetWare

Print Service ÆP. 4- 6

Perform the settings for the NetWare

service. You can perform these settings on the computer

with one of the following software applications:

• NWADMIN or PCONSOLE (Novell software application provided with NetWare

)

Setting NetWare

Printer Protocol ÆP. 4- 11

Perform this procedure to set the printer protocol. You can perform these settings on the

computer with one of the following software applications:

• Web Browser (Remote UI)

• FTP Client

Setting the Computer for NetWare

ÆP. 4- 17

Perform these settings on every computer to be used with the printer.
